What is Bitfinex?
Bitfinex is a digital asset trading platform offering state-of-the-art services for digital currency traders and global liquidity providers. Founded in 2012, Bitfinex was one of the first professional platforms set up to accommodate for the booming interest in cryptocurrency trading.
In addition to a suite of advanced trading features and charting tools, Bitfinex provides access to peer-to-peer (P2P) financing, an OTC market and margin trading for a wide selection of digital assets and derivatives trading.
Bitfinex account has three wallets to choose from: Exchange, Margin and Funding.
- Exchange Wallet is used for buying & selling supported cryptocurrencies on the exchange. Bitfinex offers order books for the spot trade of digital tokens such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, EOS, Litecoin, Ripple, NEO, and many more. Users can deposit, trade, and withdraw digital tokens.
- Margin Wallet is used when trading on margin. Bitfinex allows qualified users to trade with up to 5x leverage, borrowing funding from the P2P margin funding platform to boost their trades.
- Funding Wallet is used when providing financing for other margin traders. Liquidity providers can generate yield by providing funding to traders wanting to trade with leverage. Funding is traded on an order book at various rates and periods. More advanced users can also look to Lending Pro, a highly-customizable tool that utilizes automated technologies and advanced features to manage lending based on a user’s specifications and market conditions.
Each of the three wallets is linked to the other, it’s simple and free to move funds between the three wallets.
Order Types: LLimit, Limit (Order Book), Market, Stop, Stop-Limit, Trailing Stop, Fill or Kill, Immediate or Cancel, Scaled. You can match your orders types with the available order options: One Cancels Other (OCO), Hidden, Visible on Hit, Post-Only Limit, Reduce-only, Time in force.
Bitfinex users with Full Verification can deposit, and withdraw fiat currencies (USD, EUR, GBPJPY and CNH).
